Data Analytics / Visualisation Project Architecture

I want to build something related to data analytics as a project and have doubts about the software stack / architecture for something like this. As an example, suppose i wanted to process stock data and visualise the results using a web interface. Let’s assume i have some API-endpoint where i can ingest data.
– How would i split-up my whole application?
– What technologies would i use on backend/frontend? What would be the optimal tech-stack?
