Let’s say I have an application with thousands of items and each item could have hundreds of “tags” related to it. Users would be able to search for items based on these tags.

I know it’s hard to estimate accurately but could you give me an idea of how complicated would something like this be to implement? Could a couple of developers be enough? Would it be pretty easy to implement that kind of search by using the popular web frameworks? Would they need to be expert in the fields of algorithms, data structures and database design?
