Learning resources for ASP.NET Web Api creation

Hi all, I hope I am posting this in the right place. Apologies if I am not.

At my work I’ve been thrust into a position where I need to assist in the creation of some middle ware between to other pieces of software. It looks like it is going to be an ASP.NET Web API that will be responsible for triggering endpoints in some other APIs/sites. I’m not familiar with much of the design/planning of these items, but that is where the project is currently at. The progress is currently very slow: gathering requirements is taking a very very long time.

I think I should use this time wisely and really familiarize myself with the work that needs to be done. Does anyone have any reading/tutorial/video recommendations about using ASP.NET Web Api?
