Hi friends, I’d like to see if I can pick some brains for ideas to help a member of my development team. We work for a medium size software company (~4500 employees), but we’re part of a small division (~100 employees). The division itself is located across the country from headquarters. On our team about 8 of us work in office at the division, 4 others are full-time remote and 1 developer works at the main headquarters. All this being said, of course right now, no one is at any office, but the above has been our setup for about the last year or so.
For our 1 developer at headquarters, he basically feels like a remote employee for the team, not having anyone to interact with and work with, in person, on a daily basis. At headquarters, there are other development teams working on many other development projects and products, but he’s the only person at the entire headquarters location, working on our division’s product.
What I’m looking for is some help with some ideas on how help this developer not feel like a remote developer, which in the end could cause him to seek out another team to work with or leave the company altogether.
Thanks!
