Is it normal or common to feel like rebuilding code is boring?

Hello.

My current task at work is to rebuild all Flutter code for one of our new apps. The reason is we scrapped the first API and database to build a better backend.

I’m mostly repointing the http calls and adapting the models amd data flow to the new API. But I do not feel very stimulated by this or super invested. It’s like you just change some properties, urls here and there and then test if the exact same features work now with the new API. I don’t get to try out any new cool packages, features or solve new fun problems. It’s interesting to clean up my old code and see how much better I have gotten now though.

But is it common to feel like tasks like this are somewhat boring? What is your opinion or take on this?
