Recently we were doing team agreement session and we were to agree on some commitments. Proposals varied from precise ones (e.g. “always have tests for code you write” or “don’t be late to stand ups”) to generic ones (“always rise a bar” or “continuously improve”).
I was advocating for the preciese ones, as I feel there is concrete activity behind them.
However my manager and scrum master (2 different persons) were into the buzzwords and cliché.
Does the 2nd approach gives any real value to the team of engineers? Or is it just BS try to boost morale?
Whenever I hear management buzzwords I literally feel cringe. But it’s just me – maybe you fellow developers – can prove me wrong?
