Best ways to make loads with programming?

Im just stating out in development and would like to know where the money is? I recently saw a video by The Tech Lead on youtube and was crushed when he said app development is dead. Because thats what im currently learning. What are some of the best ways to make loads/passive income with programming? I currently am learning dart btw.
