Hello fellow redditors. Although I have experience in other subreddits I have little to no background in this particular one, so if this is the wrong place to post this type of question please let me know if there are other places that would be better.
I am currently involved in a partnership that is developing a new company that generates leads for construction projects and sells them to contractors. We have a website that has been in development but the current developer has fallen through. More importantly than a web presence, however, is our need for someone to help us develop a software system to run the data we take in from both consumers and contractors.
I have a limited knowledge of basic HTML coding but that is about the extent of my expertise when it comes to computers/coding/software etc. I badly need to find someone with coding/engineering/software development skills to help us get this project off the ground- but I have no idea where to start. The current method among the partners amounts to little more than “hey, I know a guy who is good with coding, let’s try him!” which is not acceptable in my book.
Can anyone help me get started? I really could use the help from people who are experts in this field. Are there any websites to find coders/programmers that you folks could recommend? Any especially good companies out there providing the kind of software/backend we are looking for that you could tell me about?
Again I am looking for general knowledge here. My own expertise is limited and I don’t even know where to begin. Furthermore if you know of other useful subreddits you think I should check out, please let me know that as well. I truly appreciate your help!
