Let’s say you’re working on a project that has never been made before, or is 10x better than your competitor, and you’re about halfway into it, how do you contain your excitement? What I mean is, how do you stop yourself from advertising your project at an early phase and just wait until it’s done? I’m to the point where I want to tell the world but at the same time, I don’t want someone making the same thing which will potentially lose users, or for people to get excited and wait until it’s done, which in most cases 25% will completely forget or not even see the final advertisement or link to download.

A while back I made a library and advertised it at an early stage, it got some attention and over 300 likes from what I remember, however on my repo, only 24 stars. That’s a considerable decrease, if not, a major decrease. And I feel like it was due to early advertising and users not seeing the advertisement of “hey, it’s done, here it is”. The gap of time between its advertisement and its final advertisement were only a couple of days, imagine weeks, and what that could do.
