Is software Development Right for Me?

I’m a networking student and I’ve recently realized I super don’t care about networking. Looking back I’ve realized that the only class I really liked was a python class. I like making things and solving problems, and the biggest thing making me consider switching majors is that I’m actually interested in software development. Are there any secrets that would better help.me determine if I really want to switch majors?
