My team just released v2 of MockOla, a design tool to quickly diagram & mockup geared toward software development (but flexible). We use it a lot for modeling, UI wireframes, and producing annotated screenshots for Github issues. Highlights:

  • Simple drag-and-drop editor – interact by dropping, dragging, resizing, or modifying elements onto your own “canvas” drawing area, including uploading images, then download.
  • Use palettes for UML modeling, UI design, software architecture, and general shapes
  • Plays well with JSON – renders UI imported from JSON, persists UI metadata as a JSON object stream, exportable JSON objects.

It’s available online at mockola.com, is free to use, and doesn’t require a login. It’s an app we created internally to help our team members get tangible experience with React when between client consulting projects. Amid COVID-19, expect some new palettes and features to be added soon 🙂
