Node vs .Net Core

Hello hello, Redditers,

I am in a small business venture with two others and I’m the Software Developer in this;

I am designing a system that uses Raspberry Pis at multiple locations that need to read in data, do light calculations and then send the data to a server (running .det core Web API) using post calls. I’ll be using containers for everything.

So my problem is:

I want to make the service, running on the Pis, as lightweight as possible and so I’m stuck between writing in Node.js or .Net Core. I’ve heard some people say Node is better and others say .Net Core is better when it comes to performance.

I need to make an argument to my partners for which language I recommend (and choose) and I’m lost…

I have programming experience in both but I’ve never concerned myself with the reasonings of my seniors.

Any thoughts, please.
