What are WSL Pros and Cons and Can It Replace Dual Booting?

I was wondering what the pros and cons are for WSL compared to dual booting Linux and windows. I can’t find a good list online, but if there is a good updated list then you can just direct me there. I am also curious how WSL is for software developers compared to just dual booting Linux and Windows. My school uses Windows applications a lot, but I am trying to learn other things which is why I went to self teach myself Linux. I don’t like using VMs since they are slow in my opinion, and I still game so I can’t just use Windows in a VM. If you have any recommendations based on what you have seen in the field then feel free to tell me that. I am essentially trying to do more development outside of college and use my laptop as a little development environment that doesn’t just apply to windows applications, but also cross-platform and I know Linux has tools windows don’t have as well.
