I am part of a project that is going to fail. Experiences?

Hey everyone,

I have recently joined a project which has been going for almost two years and, to put it bluntly, is the biggest mess I have ever seen.

Pretty much everything that can be wrong is wrong. Requirements are unclear, there is no acceptance criteria, we are paying an arm and a leg to “consultants”, after two years there is no MVP… and so on.

Now I am not responsible so the shitstorm will not hit me, but I feel this project is draining my soul. Trying to improve things is a gargantuan task between all the existing shit and petty politics, and even if I do achieve something, there is no recognition nor does it make any difference in the long run.

Besides the rant: what are your experiences? What do you do when you are knee deep in shit?
